Eco League School I Attend: Green Mountain College
Where I Did My Eco League Experience: Prescott College
Most Dramatic Difference Between the Two Environments: The southwest is wild after living in the mountains your whole life—mountains are shelter, protective. Out there near Prescott, it's open, rough, rustic. It hurts to not wear shoes.
Courses I Took: Journalism Practicum with the Raven Review, Principles of Small-Scale Agriculture, Intermediate Spanish, and a language immersion block course.
Fun Things to Do in the Area: Bike—everywhere. Rock climb in the local granite dells, hike, dumpster dive, get up on a roof and look at all that sky.
My Best Excursion/Adventure There: Well, learning to ride a bike in traffic was quite an endeavor!
Best Time to Go: I can see goodness in any season.
What to Read Up on Before You Go: Compost-eating wild urban pigs traveling in packs. (Just kidding … sort of.)
What is Unique About the People There: A neat culture of words-to-action; (try to) buy-nothing people. Everyone really wanted to be where they were, doing what they were doing.
Faculty Members I Most Enjoyed Working With: Reuben Ellis and Norm Bush with the Raven Review.
Reasons to Participate in an Eco League Experience: Because you can.
